Who can work with The Inde Project?
Anyone, anywhere in the world with an internet connection.
Do you only work with women's apparel?
So far all of the designers we’ve worked with happen to be working in women's apparel - after all, it does make up most of the fashion industry - however, we don’t have any restrictions on who we work with. Our work is about helping you understand the business of fashion.
I can’t find a package that suits my needs.
Do not fret! Our packages can be tailored to suit your needs. Please contact us so that we can find out the best way for us to work together.
Can you guarantee sales?
We aren’t a sales agent so don’t guarantee sales, however we do alot of marketing for your brand through social media channels and send out weekly emailers to our retailer database. We also provide you with up to 300 hand-selected retailers fit for your brand’s price point and aesthetic - see our ‘Get Started’ package for more information.
I want to do a trade show but the fees are out of my budget.
We know tradeshows can be unaffordable for emerging designers - but the exposure is invaluable. That’s why Indé has a Tradeshow package - we take a stall and display your pieces along with a couple other of our designers so that fees are split!
I only have an idea – do I need to be farther along?
No! The Inde Project package - Sketch to Store was created for people who only have an idea. You don’t need to have sketches or a business plan or fabric… all you need is an internet connection and a hefty dose of determination. We truly start from scratch and if you only have an idea in your head right now, then that’s the perfect place to be!
Do I need to have a fashion background or already know how to make samples and patterns?
Nope! We leave that stuff to the experts. The purpose of our work is to set you up with the people who are trained in sample-making, pattern-making and sewing, so you can focus on the business side of your brand.
How is your learning platform different from other fashion accelerators?
Most fashion programs don’t get into the details of business. They focus primarily on grading, flat sketching and other manual skills, but place little emphasis on how to market, brand and sell. What good is creating a product or collection if you don’t know how to get it in front of your customer and sell it? Inde’s learning platform is all about getting a grasp of how to run your business - from marketing to sales - and we’re always here to help along the way.
I’m still not sure if I’m the right fit – can you tell me more about the ideal Indé applicant.
You may have a product that has already had some success, but you want to start retailing in the US, or maybe you only have an idea right now. Whichever phase you’re in, the ideal candidate is, first and foremost, ambitious, hardworking and persistent. You have a general positive attitude and are not easily defeated when challenges arise.
Inde is all about being receptive to the resources, community, mentorship and guidance available no matter where you are in your business. If you’re 100 percent committed to fully showing up, then you’re an ideal applicant.
How is the program structured? Do I have to be anywhere in person?
The entire program is based online. With the help of an online portal that gives participants an individual log-in, we are able to create a virtual “classroom” for wherever you are in the world. You’ll have access to video lessons, to-do lists, action steps, checklists, exercises, contact databases and call recordings throughout each module. New content is released on a weekly basis so that you’re tackling each step of the process in a strategic and calculated way.
